Delete Your Account
This page explains how to delete your Accountability IRL account and exactly what happens to your data. Accountability IRL, LLC develops and publishes the Accountability IRL mobile app.
1. Delete Your Account From the App
You can delete your account yourself at any time. It takes about ten seconds:
- Open the Accountability IRL app and sign in.
- Tap the Profile tab.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm in the dialog that appears.
Deletion happens immediately. There is no waiting period, no grace period, and no way to reactivate the account afterwards.
2. If You Cannot Sign In
Email support@accountabilityirl.com from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm that you own the address and complete the deletion within 30 days.
3. What Is Deleted
Confirming deletion permanently removes all of the following:
- Your account and sign-in credentials
- Your profile: display name, bio, age, gender, interests, and profile photo
- Every goal you created, along with its progress and check-in history
- Every direct message and chat request you sent, including in other users' conversations
- Your partnerships, partnership proposals, and partner ratings
- Any location coordinates stored for the Run Buddy feature
- Push notification tokens registered to your devices
- Your in-app activity history
4. What Is Kept, and For How Long
- Nothing that identifies you is kept. Your email address is not retained, and you may sign up again later with the same address.
- Anonymous, aggregated usage counts that cannot be linked back to you may remain in our product analytics.
- Where the law requires us to keep a record — for example an unresolved safety report or a legal hold — we keep only the minimum required, and only for as long as the law requires.
5. Deleting Some Data Without Deleting Your Account
We do not currently offer partial data deletion. You can edit or remove your profile details, profile photo, goals, and messages at any time from inside the app without closing your account.
6. Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so cancel yours in the App Store or Google Play before deleting your account.
